Workshop on Gender, Race and Entrepreneurship
This virtual workshop series will be hosted by the Institute for Gender and the Economy (GATE) in partnership with the Government of Canada-funded Women’s Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH). Sessions will occur every Monday, 11:00am – 12:15pm from October 19, 2020 – November 23, 2020 (please note, the final session, on November 23rd, will end at 12:30pm).
An exciting agenda has been prepared including 10 papers organized into 5 sessions reflecting different working areas at the intersection of gender and entrepreneurship and a final panel looking at the future directions of research on gender, race and entrepreneurship.
Session 1 – Career Antecedents of Female Entrepreneurs Monday, with Tiantian Yang (Wharton) and Pai-Ling Yin and Milan Miric (USC Marshall)
Session 2 – Gendered Product Markets -- Monday, October 26, 2020, with Alexia Delfino (Bocconi) and Ruiqing Cao (Harvard) with Rembrand Koning and Ramana Nanda
Session 3 – Institutional Responses - Monday, November 2, 2020, with Stefan Dimitriadis (Toronto) and Asia Bento (Rice)
Session 4 – Conditions for Raising Financing - Monday, November 9, 2020, with Sabrina Howell (NYU Stern) and Jonathan Zandberg (Boston College Carroll)
Session 5 – The Role of Intermediaries - Monday, November 16, 2020, with Song Ma (Yale SOM) and Emmanuel Yimfor (Michigan Ross)
Session 6 - Closing Panel: The Future Research Agenda for Gender & Entrepreneurship - Monday, November 23, 2020, with Michael Ewens (Caltech) Fiona Murray (MIT Sloan) Alicia Robb (Next Wave Impact and CU Boulder) Zulema Valdez (UC Merced)
